Ethical advocacy and protection of values
We are convinced that, in the context of a war of aggression, neutrality cannot justify giving a platform to those who support dictatorship. In 2025, our Community initiated a series of high-profile campaigns aimed at defending ethical standards in Swiss politics and culture.
Protest against the Russian delegation to the IPU: We launched a large-scale campaign against the participation of representatives of the Russian Federal Assembly in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Geneva. Our open letter, supported by over 500 politicians and experts, reminded the international community that the place for those legitimizing war crimes should be The Hague Tribunal, not diplomatic chambers.
Anna Netrebko's case in Zurich: We initiated a public debate about the inadmissibility of artists who have become symbols of the "regime culture" performing on prestigious Swiss stages. In an appeal to the management of the Zurich Opera House, we called for a principled stance: artistic decisions cannot be separated from their moral context while artists who spoke out against the war languish in prison.
Our actions are aimed at making it impossible for the aggressor to use its “soft power” to normalise violence in the eyes of European society.
